In order to make any type of calls via Megatel network you need to create an account, buy Pay Per Use credit or subscribe for an Unlimited Plan. Below you can find the instructions on how to use Megatel services and make cheapest international calls.
Calling from PC

1. Download softphone

2. Installation
- Double-click the installation file and press Next.

- Accept the Licence Agreement and click Next.

- In the following window press again Next.

- Press the Install button to continue setup.

- Press Finish button, Х-Lite will start automaticaly.

- Double-click the installation file and press Next.

3. Configuration
- On the first run of Х-Lite 4 you have to enter your connection and accout settings, pressing Softphone -> Account Settings

In the opened window fill following fields:
Press ok to save settings.
Account name — Megatel;
User Id — your Megatel User ID (login to your account to check your User ID);
Domain — sip.megatel.co.il;
Password — your Megatel account password.
- Setup is done. In case of success the connection status should become Available and the "Call" button should become active. To make a call, enter desired destination and press "Call" button.
Destination number should be dialed in international format: 00 + country code + area code + number (Example Canada: 00-1-514-1234567).
- On the first run of Х-Lite 4 you have to enter your connection and accout settings, pressing Softphone -> Account Settings
Calling from iPhone/Android/Nokia

You can make calls through MegaTel using 3G or Wi-Fi connection of your smartphone. All you need is a SIP client installed. Nokia E and N series, have a built-in SIP client. If your smartphone doesn't have a SIP client, you need to install and setup it. Click on any of smartphones below to see installation and setup instructions. |

Calling from home or cell phone
Prepare your account
- 1. Login to your Megatel account and go to Profile page.
- 2. Fill the Authorized Numbers fields with your phone numbers. Only these numbers will be authorized to access your Megatel account. You can enter up to four numbers and change it anytime. All numbers shoud be entered starting with country code. (Example Israel: 972123456789)
- 3. Press Update button to save your changes.
Access number
- 1. Dial Megatel Access number in Israel: 077-5664121
- 2. Wait for voice menu
- 3. Dial desired destination number followed by #(pound key)
Callback number
- 1. Dial Megatel Callback number: +15144009653.
- 2. After first ringtone - hangup
- 3. In few seconds you will receive an incoming call
- 4. Answer the call
- 5. Now you can dial desired destination number followed by #(pound key)
Please note that:
- All numbers should be dialed in international format: 00 + country code + area code + number
(Example Canada: 00 + 1 + 514 + 1234567) - Callback call consists of to legs:
- 1. Callback In - from Megatel to your phone
- 2. Callback Out - call to the destination number
- Both legs are charged according to Pay Per Use rates.
- (Example: If you call via Callback to Canada from an Israel mobile phone, total minute price of the call will be Canada minute price + Israel mobile minute price)
- If you are using an Unlimited Plan and calling a destination included in the plan, you will be charged only for Callback In call.
Calling from SIP Device
Please use following general settings to connect your SIP device to Megatel network:
- SIP port : 5060
- Registrar : sip.megatel.co.il
- Proxy server : sip.megatel.co.il
- Outbound proxy server : leave empty
- Account name : your Megatel user ID (you can find it in your Megatel account)
- Password : your Megatel password
- Display name/number (optional) : your Megatel username
- Stunserver (optional) : stun.megatel.co.il

Can I call a destination not included in your country list ?^ top
Unfortunately not. Only destinations which we are able to offer at discounted rates are included in our destinations list. Therefore, if the country you wish to call is not included in the list, we do not offer it yet.

Megatel offers secure online payment methods, including major credit/debit cards, PayPal and WebMoney. login to your account and select "buy credit" to see which payment method suits you best.
When do call charges take effect ?^ top
Call charges take effect once you are connected to the telephone number you have dialled i.e once the call has been answered. If there is no answer or the line is engaged you will not be charged for the call.
Are there any other charges to pay ?^ top
There are no monthly subscription, registration or administration charges. The advertised tariff for each destination is all-inclusive.
How much will I be charged for my calls ?^ top
Nothing! - if you are using unlimited plans and call a destination included in the plan.
Calls to all other phone numbers will be charged the applicable tariff for the destination you are calling. Rates are in USD per minute. All cals are billed per second. If your call duration is 1 minute and 29 seconds, your wll be charged for 89 seconds and not for 2 minutes. Apart from that there are no other charges; no subscription, registration, or administration fees!
How long does my credit last for calls ?^ top
At Megatel, your credit will NOT expire. Unlimited plans are payed on a monthly basis.
My order status shows "COMPLETED" but no credits are added to my account ?^ top
In some cases customers have experienced longer than expected delays in between orders being processed and credits appearing in balances. Generally it should only take seconds, but in a small number of cases customers may have to wait longer for their balance to reflect the purchase.
You can always check your order status in the My Invoices section of your personal account. We suggest you attempt to place a call even if the purchased credits have not appeared yet. In some cases the shown balance may take some time to update and placing a VoIP-Out call can often trigger an immediate update. If your order is listed as "Completed" you WILL receive your credits.

Should you not receive our subscription email due to spam filters for example your registration may still have been successful. Please try an hour after registration to make calls using Megatel.

Account balances are updated centrally, so you may need to wait a couple of minutes in order to get the most accurate update.
If you have just placed a new order please ensure you check your payment status by signing in to your account and checking your purchases. Only orders that are listed as "Completed" will appear in your balance.
One suggestion is that you place a call even if the purchased credit isn`t showing yet. Often the balance shown can take longer to update but calls can already be made. If your call goes through successfully the balance will be updated immediately.
